I am also an older sister. Part of teaching my sisters how to “make it in the world” included wringing a dirty mop out on my middle sister’s head during a fight, ratting her out to Mom and the Principal when she skipped school, teaching my youngest sister how to use the microwave when she was 2 (I was a lazy 16-year old who did not want to get out of bed to make her breakfast), and instructing “the baby” on the filthiest curse words to use in front of Mom & Dad.

And now I am continuing the instruction with my middle sisters’ two boys (3 and 1), who I am grooming to become the destructive hellions that my PITA sister so richly deserves.

My husband’s older sisters used to beat him up. Until one day he was big enough to beat them up. They still talk about it.

I play the role of older sister to my brother, who is 10 years younger than I am. I can definitely say that I torture him more than he ever tortures me.

About a month or so ago he fell asleep on the couch… I wrote “Daddy’s Girl” on his lower back. What? I told him about it before he went anywhere!

I am an older sister. I would like to be thanked for all the hard work I did in raising my sister, like throwing her in water to teach her how to swim and teaching her the love of sci fi by forcing her to watch Star Trek with me.

We need a self-help group I think. I have two older sisters – quite enough. To this day they can’t resist giving me a hard time about anything and everything. My son also has two older sisters and my sympathy.
