I do, I do, I do like the Royals. I can’t help it. I weep for myself, too . . . I was talking to some folks over beers and pizza earlier this week, as they opined about their favorite Yankees and Red Sox players in the All-Star Game, and I noted that I was pleased that the Royals had a token relief pitcher in the game, and were actually having a pretty good year, only nine games below .500 at the break. The looks in their eyes screamed “pathetic” louder than any words could have . . . .

I think it’s cool when families pass down the love of a team, like a tradition. I had a cousin Joey born in March – I’ve already made sure he has the proper Yankee attire.
