LOL wait a minute Jim. You didn't think my post was funny? Everyone has an opinion, I just thought it was funny that you mentioned tattoos were permanent twice as if until then we didn't realize it. I was just trying to poke fun brother, as I would have expected you to do with the fact that I spelled permanent wrong in that post. C'mon Jim!

Actually, maybe Kevin didn't realize it was permanent until this morning when he took a shower and tried to wash it off. lol.

Kevin writes a blog and actively solicits comments. While the vast majority of people will celebrate his tattoo, there's usually at least one person, no matter what the subject, who looks at it from a different perspective.

This time, that happened to be me.

I personally can't stand tattoos, especially beyond a few discreet ones, but I do realize it's a personal decision and that in many cases, the artwork has meaning to the person in question.

Like others, my largest issue is the permanence. What looks like a work of art now will look like something left out in the rain years from now.

I feel similarly about people who gauge their ears. It's going to take surgery to fill that massive hole if you ever get bored with it.

My son recently got a lip piercing. I think it looks silly and given the line of work he wants to get into (teaching), it has to come out sometime. The good thing is that it is removable...tattoos, unless you feel like submitting to laser or other treatments, aren't.
