Donna, don't you think if she had a huge problem with this being online she would have said something by now? Especially in the parts where she commented on this post?

Also, that analogy doesn't work. If he stick his fingers down her throat and made her throw up, then yes.

No, I was being perfectly serious. For a husband to take his wife's phobia and put it on public display without her knowledge is effed up and yes, abusive. Would it also be a laugh a minute if he put a spider down her shirt if she were scared of them? He's making sport of her, not trying to help her with her problem. Messed up.

Got to say, I really don't get why her friends would obsess over whether or not she pukes. Unless of course, someone "jokes" about it all the time. I mean who thinks about how much their friends puke?

Throwing up is not going to get rid of the phobia. I adore Kevin and you seem like nice people, but this makes absolutely no sense to me. I have a bridge phobia and I still have to drive over bridges (medicated, mind you)....the phobia does not go away.

I hope so too. A bit much and terribly offensive to equate an online joke thing to spousal abuse.

Donna, I hope your comment was meant as a joke. I know Jon and Stephanie and I can assure you that they adore each other. "Spousal abuse" doesn't enter into it--Jon just has a crazy sense of humor. All her friends want her to get rid of this phobia.

Stephanie, hon, please consult a divorce attorney (preferrably without getting knocked up) and run far, run fast. This is taking spousal abuse to new heights. I was cringing at it before knowing you weren't a part of it. That your husband did this to you publicly without your knowledge multiplies the abuse. Take all this on-line stuff to a divorce attorney and get the hell out of this abusive relationship.

Now that I got that off my chest, so what she's afraid to throw up? Me too. I fight it. But, man, it hardly matters. If things are bad enough that the need to do so for your physical well-being is overwhelming, it's going to happen anyway. I'm trying to think of times I've thrown up since my pregnancy 27 years ago (which probably caused this because I had god-awful morning sickness halfway through) and honestly can't think of any times I have though I'm sure I must have once or twice when sick. If I can help it, I'm not going to.

Why would this need to be fixed, however? It's not like it can be prevented if the body really needs to do it.

just knock her up and then she will have no choice but to boot... well maybe. I don't see how this helps her throw up at all, last time I checked most people can't voluntarily throw up without a fist of fingers down their throat and that is just stupid. Good for Stephanie for having no interest in this.
