Tonight is “Cinema Under the Stars!”

For only $5, you’ll get to hobnob with the TU bloggers and fellow readers. Ever wonder what AngryDelmarMom316 is like in real life? This may be your ONLY CHANCE to find out!

In addition to guest bartenders Amanda Talar and TU Funnies blogger and TimesUnion.com’s “Best Local Comedian” four years running Greg Aidala, you’ll get to watch the film adaptation of Truman Capote’s “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” on a two-story film screen.

UPDATE 1:35pm – Actually, you missed your chance. Tickets for the event are SOLD OUT! But you can still help out the cause. See below.

A portion of the proceeds for the event will go towards the Times Union Hope Fund.

If you want to donate more or can’t make it this evening, you can give directly to the hope fund online through a secure site here. It literally only takes a minute of your time, if that, to help out local at-risk and low income kids with some much needed after-school and summer programs. CLICK HERE for more.

And maybe I’ll see you tonight!

Nice idea. Although it would probably interfere with traffic, I would think several radio announcements to (park), stop by and drop off a donation would also help.

  2. Tony Barbaro says:

Ddi you ever find a Nudie suit to wear? Tonight would be the perfect debut…

  3. Michael Huber, timesunion.com says:

Hi Kevin. We’re sold out for tonight’s event. Thanks. See you later. Don’t hog all the popcorn.

  4. Rob Madeo says:

What does it cost to not meet the bloggers? ;)

    • Mike - thanks for letting me know! I’ll update the blog post.

Rob - the cost is the joy one feels when in presence of the TU bloggHAHAHAHAHAHA I’m sorry I couldn’t keep a straight face saying that.

  5. I noted on Teri’s blog that I find this movie unwatchable for a variety of reasons, so sorry to miss everyone, but not as much as I would be if they were screening “Aguirre: Wrath of God” . . .

I will be interested to hear/know how many people know nothing about “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” and are appalled/horrified when they see Mickey Rooney in yellow-face on a two-story screen, or when they realize what “money for the powder room attendant” really means . . . .

(Brilliant satire of said points on the Tea Party Blog, BTW, if you haven’t seen it yet . . . )

  6. Teri Conroy says:

Sold out! Wow, Kevin – they’re all going for YOU. You rock, you young tart.
