The 2010 Kevin Marshall Blog Awards
This month, The Times Union released its 2010 “Best Of” and, as per the usual, I was dismayed at some of the choices. I mean c’mon, Domino’s Pizza for “Best Pizza?” I’d rather jump up and down with a loaded gun in my mouth than eat something from Domino’s. And I’m not even a foodie!
HARUMPH!
So, in honor of the hard work that may have been missed by readers – as well as my own unrelenting ego – I present to you the 2010 Kevin Marshall Blog Awards.
(Note – yes, J. Eric Smith did something similar already. And guess what? I don’t care, because I’m self-centered and deluded. So there.)

I must say, you have excellent taste! Not because you chose me — that makes your taste questionable — but because of the other selections.
However, our little circle of amatuer/volunteer/free bloggers wouldn’t be be comlete without you, one of the handful of blogs I make sure I read every day.
You are far, far too kind.
Hooray for the College blog! We should try to add more punctuation marks in honor of this.
Actually, I find the ‘new formula’ Domino’s to be entirely edible.
#justsayin’
Can I get best of travel, since I got as far away from Albany as I could? Erp.. I mean, I love Albany!
Why, thank you kindly! I blush to be included in such fine blog company.
I sometimes wonder what makes people pick some of the things they pick for The Best Of. I feel bad for them even. They must live a sheltered life. Dominos pizza? Who eats that stuff?
Thanks, Kevin! I would prefer a Sparkle Monkey Lamp to a gem-encrusted trophy if that’s OK. I thought your post on weight loss was motivational (and compassionate). And Rob’s blog post on reusable bags motivated me to give mine a good washing.
Best non-existant blog: Animal Rights Blog
Hey did you ever figure out what the new name of this blog is gonna be….don’t leave us hangin’….
I still say “I’m too sexy for this Blog” and change your picture to the one with the cowboy outfit.
There are a lot of food blogs in the Capital Region. I am truly honored that you felt the FUSSYlittleBLOG was the best of the bunch in 2010. Now the pressure is on to keep possession of the title for 2011.
Thank you!
And with your support perhaps we’ll be able to knock Domino’s and Subway off the Times Union list next year with the FUSSYlittleBALLOT 2.0.
Dan B – You’re more than welcome. Although this is obviously done a bit tongue in cheek, I truly do find yours to be the most thought-provoking, well-written, and accessible foodie blog in the Capital Region. You deserve full credit and honors, sir, as always.
Tony – I’m still working it through! Keep your ear to the ground…or eyes on the blog. ;)
As Rob Madeo steps to the podium to accept his award, I run up on stage and grab the trophy and the microphone.
“Please calm down, the music and everything. It’s nice that I went and bought me an outfit today that costed a lot of money today, you know what I mean? ‘Cause I figured that Wu-Chuck was gonna win. I don’t know how you all see it, but when it comes to the children, Wu-Chuck is for the children. We teach the children. You know what I mean? Robby is good, but Wu-Chuck is the best, Okay? I want you all to know that this is Ol’ Dirty Chuckster, and I love you all. Peace!”
I then run off the stage, a few steps ahead of the security guards. :)
Meanwhile, the Nippertown crew is dancing around the stage with the words “Soy Bomb” painted on their chests…
RIP, ODB :(
Cool beans, llama and green. You are such a rodeo star, Kevin Marshall! And what is a Sparkle Monkey Lamp, Naomi? It actually sounds like something…I was going to say Kevin should have, but I think Rob needs one.
Congrats to Daniel B. on winning the Best Foodie Blog title for 2010! Now, watch your back.
Ya know, lest I be called a sycophant Mr. Marshall, your blog aint too shabby….you deserve at least an honorable mention in this roll call.
Thanks, Doug!
Thanks for the honor, Kevin. “I would like to thank the Academy…” Just practicing:) – MR
YESSSSSS!! Score. Thanks Kevin!
Thanks for the This is College!? love! Huber didn’t like all the punctuation but I added it anyways! =)
Pathetic!

You people are such echochamber. Get over yourselves. How nice it would be if you contributed to society, or at least to intellectual conversation, rather than simply another’s egos! 90% of this newspaper’s blogs a pathetic pat on the back to one another. So much garbage! Very reflective of core values of overwhelming part of your society.
Your comment is art.
congrats on the award kind of interesting
