Dennis Siver wins UFC 122 Fight against Andrew Winner
Dennis Siver (pronounced “see-ver”), the first German citizen to be signed by the UFC and the sport’s most successful German fighter, was victorious last night in his fight against Andre winner.
Siver finished Winner in convincing fashion with some great striking followed by a simple yet beautifully executed rear naked choke.
Siver was the subject of my first feature article for the UFC.com, so I feel like a proud Papa (if fathers instead of raising children simply asked them a few questions and then wrote about it).

I also just learned that local Troy boy Shawn Miller won his fight at the Armory tonight. TROY WHAT! Check out RING Magazine columnist Michael Rivest’s Boxing in the Capital Region blog, which I’m sure will have more info.

DVR’d so don’t give anymore away :)
Next week:
Lyoto stops Quentin (KO)
BJ submits Hughes (Matt in his prime would have been a good foe for BJ, but not at this stage)
P.S. If you have any connections with Dana please advise we don’t want Lesnar/Mir III. We want Lesnar/Big Country.
P.S.S. Dos Santos soon to be next Heavyweight champ. Cheers.
I’m going the other way on that fight. Lyoto won that first fight against Shogun on the judge’s scorecards, but he clearly lost that fight and the psychological impact of that was apparent in the rematch. I don’t think he’s the same fighter we saw when he was running through the Light Heavyweight division.
I agree about Hughes/Penn, though it’s interesting to note that right now BJ is around 165 for the fight. He’s poo-pooed the weight disparity in the past, but it’s clearly been a factor when he’s fought at 170.
P.S. I don’t, but I’ll try to tweet it to him. You may not want Lesnar/Mir III, but boy are people clamoring for that fight now that Lesnar appears fallible. Trust me, if it happens it’ll sell big.
P.P.S. WAR CAIN.
