Courtesy of Hulu and NBC Universal, below is the video of local band Phantogram, easily the most successful act to come out of the region in some time, performing live on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night.

Television doesn’t do their live performances justice, and while I like the track they played, there are even better ones on their debut LP “Eyelind Movies,” which you can purchase on iTunes and Amazon.

  1. Chuck Miller says:

If there is a God out there, Phantogram’s next television appearance will be as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live.

  2. In terms of exposure that’d be great. But man, the acoustics at 30 Rock are notoriously bad, especially for electronic artists.

  3. Tony Barbaro says:

not crazy about them, but glad some locals are making it big..good for them.

  4. Just goes to show that “good” and “local” are not mutually exclusive. Phantogram has a nice sound, great look, and will hopefully go far.

  5. RealTomT says:

Terrifically mindless, computer-generated music for the non-thinking or discerning masses. Pop music just keeps getting simpler and simpler in order to appeal to the public that becomes dumber and less informed by the minute.

  6. Kathy says:

Pretty harsh RealTomT, I thought they were great and wish them all the success they deserve.

  7. jakester says:

I could watch her sing for hours!

  8. Deandra Modica says:

They are outstanding live. “Eyelid Movies” is my favorite album of 2010. Go see them the next chance you get! I saw them in Rochester a few months ago and I was lucky enough to interview them about it (http://rochester.metromix.com/music/article/phantogram/2340549/content). I can’t wait for their next show in the area. I’m so happy for their success!

  9. Geoff says:

Never heard of them, saw this on late night and I’m glad I did. Watched some of their live stuff and always prefer an extra layer of live drums plus helps w/ their stage presence. Excited to hear more.
