Happy Independence Day. Wherever you go, whether it be your back yard or a lookout or Empire State Plaza or Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, be safe and keep in mind the safety of others.
And also, if you get a free moment, use the time time to remember, rediscover, and revisit our nation’s history. By that I don’t mean fetishizing or white-washing. Because we are the sum of all that came before and the culmination of prior triumphs and transgressions. If you love this country as you say you do, then you love it for what it really was and is…warts and all.

Yes, I love my country – “warts and all”. I just read where Communist China is celebrating 90 years of its tyrannny and killing of its own people only to harvest their internal organs in a worldwide black market. Yet they say they have alot to be “proud of”. My dad who was a WWII hero – flying two dozen sorties over Germany to bomb the hell out of the nazis who – just like the communist Chinese of today – want to dominate the world. Whoever bashes our country should only leave it to have their freedoms yanked from them if one goes overseas – particularly China/Iran/N Korea/Sudan – if you dissent – disagree openly – w/those governments they will torture you alive and then murder you. So, on this 4th of July: keep in mind why this country is so great and DON’T buy from China. Buy if a label says: made in America or Union made. You’re getting a good product as well as protecting jobs over here not overseas. And, you’re not promoting terrorism against the U. S. of A. Just sayin’…

From my front porch, we were able to see over the tree tops and watch the distant fireworks at Bruno Stadium across the river. Afterward, we proceeded to watch The Great Muppet Caper on television.
Can i just say I am crushing on you? This is absolutely perfect!!
