July 22nd – Morris Day & The Time
July 29th – Breathless (An Air Supply Tribute Band)
August 5th – Billy Squier

none of these are funny.
Totally pumped! The state may not have money, but obviously Albany County does to have some of these names. My favs are: Bob Seger, Aldo Nova, Morris Day & the Time and of course Bill Squier. Billy may be gay (totally a shame for all the girls out there), but I bet he still belts out a tune! For once, something to look forward too!! Thanks Kevin, you just made my day!

It’s too bad they couldn’t get Billy Squier and Aldo Nova on a double bill. Saw them in ’86 in Lowell Mass and they tore the roof off the War Memorial. I’ll be clearing my calendar for this one!

I feel sad for Bobby brown though, from the biggest damn star in the world to alive at five? But the place is gonna be packed for him> morris day too! and Flava flav as well(too bad it wasnt a Public enemy show) let the summer commence!

I have to admit, you got me. It wasn’t ridiculous enough to ring my April Fool’s alarm bell and I actually emailed it to someone. Having never been to Alive at 5 but knowing what sorts of acts come to Albany, I was legitimately unsurprised to hear that Europe was coming, and I figured tribute bands and has-beens were par for the course
for the “worst day of the week to have a party” party. Oy.
What is this? the I beat my wife tour?

Bob Seger does a good show. I saw him years ago @ SPAC & as I recall, he really delivered.

Strong list, with the exception of the Air
Supply cover band.

If this was the real lineup, it would have an Irish Night and a Latin Night, for what it’s worth. :)

Disappointing. Flava Flav, Bobby Brown, Rick Dees? All the great rock, R & B, soul, reggae, and blues bands out there and they come up with this mediocre lineup? There’s nobody close in quality to past acts, like the Neville Brothers, N. Mississippi Allstars, Leon Russell, Joan Osborne.
Hey- I know you wrote a follow up post, but you might want to put a disclaimer at the top that the post is a fake… when you Google “alive at 5 lineup 2010″ your post is the first to pop up. Or, you could always keep trying to trick people. :)
