Late – or Early – Thoughts and Prayers
Yes, the time stamp is correct.
After a late gathering with cast members, I came home and stayed up late to catch up on what I’d missed on the blogs and sites I follow. One of those blog’s is Jay Gallagher’s.
To keep it short, Jay’s had some bad turns health wise this week. He was able to transcribe a couple blog posts to his wife and daughter that were posted earlier this evening.
The blog post ends saying Jay would most likely go into surgery tonight (meaning earlier this evening, after the blog post was written).
I don’t know Jay. To be honest, I wasn’t much aware of him or his plight before I was brought in to the TU blogosphere. His blog did draw early interest from me once I was on board, and I’ve been following ever since. That, and some acquaintances who vouch for his superior character, are my only exposure to him.
That said, my thoughts and prayers right now are still with him and his family. And I want to thank them all for continuing to share their story. It’s both a comfort and sobering reminder to those of us who have relatives who have fought cancer or know someone currently fighting it.
Which is what Jay has decided to do. Keep fighting. That’s certainly in keeping with what little I know of him.
UPDATE: Jay’s daughter Janice posted an update and the news, unfortunately, is not all good. They hope to transition Jay to Hospice care soon. He and his family have fought – and continue to fight – valiantly. My thoughts are with them today.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Gallagher family. Without question, from one TU blogger to another, a prayer for Jay Gallagher for a successful and curable diagnosis and a speedy recovery.
Prayers and white light for Jay and his family. Thank you for the update, Kevin.
