What if Michael Vick was white? Then his dog-fighting stuff would be okay, wouldn’t it? Because there’s no white NFL player (MUST IGNORE BEN ROETHLISBERGER) who draws such ire from fans. But this is pointless, because race isn’t a factor.
If that previous paragraph reads like some of the dumbest s*** in history, that’s because it is, and it comes courtesy of – SURPRISE – ESPN, who allowed a feature on its site called “What if Michael Vick Was White.”
Between Times Union blogs and the rest of the internet, I’ve read some desperately reaching piles of offensively dense crap in my day. But this tops it all.
Kudos to you, ESPN. You just outdumbed the Internet.

The 4-letter network strikes again. Idiots.
Fortunately, major animal/humane groups were on the ball with this. I truly don’t believe color mattered in this case. I believe a hero messed up–and that was more likely the reason this horror was eradicated. I see it as a job handled well by animal groups and decent people. Some issues never make it to the forefront.

If Vick was white, he would still be BLASTED by the press and by cisitzens alike.

Not that shocking. There’s always SOMEONE who makes a comment of this nature in these situations…because there is still a cross-section of society that believes this.
Wow, how many of you actually read the article? Aside from the inflammatory photoshop’d image, which the author had no part of, the article is a good read.
