One of these men did steroids. CAN YOU GUESS WHICH ONE?! (Image by Derek Purdy via Flickr)

The Times Union reported yesterday that Paul Teutel, Sr. – best known for his role as the ill-tempered patriarch and owner of Orange County Choppers featured on the Discovery Channel reality show “American Choppers” – is a juicehead.

Teutel was named as a client of James D’Amico, a Florida dentist who illegally (and successfully) wrote steroid and HGH prescriptions for the reality star and several others, including four Major League Baseball players.

A 61-year-old with freakishly large biceps and the temperament of a toddler did steroids. Knock me over with a feather.

I don’t believe it! :-P [kidding, this is like a “well, duh” news moment for me, haha]

  2. Sweetness says:

Hmmm. No wonder his business is going bankrupt. I wouldn’t order a bike from a toddler with freakishly large biceps. I might end up with a macked out tricycle.

  3. u2 says:

What’s next?!?!? Are you going to tell me that Pauly D, Ronny, and The Situation are on the juice? Because personally, I don’t find it odd at all, that the three of them can drink all they want DAILY, eat pizza at 4am, etc…….I’m sure they’re just genetically freakish to have such defined phsyique’s while enjoying so many simple carbohydrates.

  4. jakester says:

He needed it for his injuries so he could get back to building bikes. He was too young to retire…
    He only did it once,
    It wasn’t illegal then…
Some guy in the locker room at the gym shot him up and he thought it was vitamin B?

  5. derryX says:

    Guys, it’s alright, he didn’t inhale…

  6. Pete says:

Can anyone say !! ROID RAGE !!. Dad likes to scream as opposed to talk. Another example of what drugs can do to a very successful business (sports or other) and what might be otherwise be good family interaction.

  7. Em says:

    Mmm juice.

  8. Laurie B says:

C’mon – he takes them for his chronic lung disease and arthritis (whether or not he’s aware of it)

  9. Shamrock35 says:

I guess that explains all of his “roid rage” blowouts.

  10. patm says:

Just finished watching the last episode of OCC. I could have told you all the content of this show before it even aired. Odie is a loser like Paul Sr. Was he a plant by OCC. Glad he is gone from PJD’s. What a mess!!! I used to think that only women were “bitchy”, now I know better!!

  11. mlt says:

I think he needs something.paulie jr keep up the good work you handle yourself wonderful. I think paulie jr has made the most improvest and the most self change. as for paul sr quick being a player hater. when paul sr see’s the show he’ll see who is the better person.

  12. withheld says:

Paul Sr. doesn’t get ‘roid rage, if you want to know what ‘roid rage is, ask Chris Beniot’s wife and son.

Paul Jr. was a lazy bum while working for his dad, and he got upset about it. If you’d just watched the most recent episode, Jr’s getting a taste of his own medicine.

  13. derryX says:

    Chris Benoit was on steroids?!?!?!

  14. Get Real © says:

derryX, no. Benoit wasn’t on roids. He just flew into a rage because he was frustrated at how some so dense as Sarah Palin continues to get vast amounts of media attention.

    • Actually, since I wrote and read a lot about the story when it went down: it was a combination of various things. ‘Roids were just the tip of the iceberg; in addition he was taking tons of hormone treatments, HGH, and a LOT of pain pills. It was a combination of that, stressers, depression, the rigors (physical and mental) of a truly insane and self-destructive line of work, and he had a dark side.

  15. Robare says:

    Do tell, Teutell.

  16. April says:

Not surprised at all. He’s spoken several times on the show about being a recovering addict. It’s a good thing that the show has come to an end. It was such a fantastic show in the beginning, and now it’s just a sad commentary on a family falling apart.

  17. Opps says:

All we know is what we see on TV. Know body knows JACK! I think the guy is a complete jerk at times. But lets look at what this man/family has done. This man gives, and gives, and gives. Hundreds of thousands of dollars. How many jobs has the family created? How many familys are able to feed there kids and pay there bills? I am not sticking up for SR. I think from what I know(and it aint much) that he could shut his mouth and it would help tremendously. He says things that hurt the ones he shouldnt hurt.

  18. Opps says:

Correction: Nobody knows JACK! (kinda ironic)

  19. Robert Morein says:

    Paul Sr. on Steroids.

Almost as shocking as Michael Jackson’s death.

  20. Crd2nd says:

I started watching the show in reruns, didn’t really pay attention until the Jr versus Sr stuff. IMO, Dad sure loved to dish on his son. Damn never once in the shows I have seen Paul Sr said how proud he was of his son, and Junior made some great stuff. Just an observation.
